Call for Submissions: Pen Parentis Fellowship

Pen Parentis is an organization committed to providing resources, education and support to writers who are parents. Each year they showcase the work of a Writing Fellow, a new emergent author worthy of notice. They are currently accepting submissions for the 2014-2015 Writing Fellow.

In addition to a full year of promotion, a $1000 prize will be presented to the winner at a public reading of the winning work in Manhattan on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Entrants must be the parent of at least one child under 10 years of age, but there are no style or genre limitations on the works of fiction submitted for consideration. Entrants can be at any level of their literary careers.

Submissions are by postal mail only and call for a new, never-published fiction story—any genre, on any subject—of up to 1200 words.

Submission deadline is April 17, 2013 and there is a $25 entry fee.
