The AJC Decatur Book Festival is the largest independent book festival in the country and one of the five largest overall. Festival-goers crowd the historic downtown Decatur square to enjoy book signings, author readings, panel discussions, an interactive children's area, live music, parades, cooking demonstrations, poetry slams, writing workshops, and more.

2015_August_blogThe organization behind the festival promotes a year-round literary community by hosting a series of fundraising and literary events.

The Literary Mama Blog Editor searches for mama-centric news you can use — including information about publishing opportunities and literacy efforts; essays and writing prompts that motivate and inspire; and announcements about events, classes, and workshops. The current blog editors are Laura Roberts and Rudri Patel; read their bios here and here.
