Dawn Haines

Dawn Haines’s work has appeared in Solstice, Literary Mama, The Poets and Writers Guide to MFA ProgramsBrevity, and Zone 3. Her essay Aleatorik won the 2012 Solstice Magazine essay contest and was nominated by the editors for a Pushcart Prize. Secrets was named Runner-up in South Loop Review’s 2014 National Essay Contest. Her work has been named finalist in the New Letters Dorothy Churchill Cappon, Tiferet and Florida Review annual essay contests and for the Bread Loaf-Rona Jaffe Foundation Scholars. Dawn has an MFA in writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and a bachelor’s degree in voice from the Eastman School of Music. She is a former Creative Nonfiction Editor for Literary Mama. Currently, she is a resident at the Vermont Studio Center and then will travel for five months to finish her research for a lyrical creative nonfiction book about Jan DeGaetani, her teacher at Eastman.
