Literary Mama is an all-volunteer organization that brings mothers together through literature. Over the years, our staff has included women who are pregnant with their first child, women whose children have all reached adulthood, and women everywhere in between. Literary Mama’s staff members gain experience, make connections, and make a difference to a global readership and an ever-expanding contributor list of mother (and father) writers. We seek self-motivated, collegial collaborators who are comfortable communicating online and expanding the reach of our journal’s community. Please note: These are volunteer positions. All work is conducted remotely, via internet.
Our Blog Editors create and maintain a consistent schedule of blog posts, in conjunction with one or two other blog editors, and work with Social Media Editor to promote the publication.
Qualifications and Expectations
- Thinks like a marketer and understands how a blog can be used to promote a product
- Experience in writing and formatting material for the web
- Proficient with, or a willingness to learn about, content management systems, group email conversations, and cloud-sharing programs
- Experience with social media platforms
- 1 to 5 hours a week
Literary Mama seeks photography
We always give photo credits and provide a link back to the photographer's website directly on the post's page. Literary Mama reaches approximately 40,000 readers per month, and our social media editor promotes each post via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. In addition, as a photo contributor, your name will be featured in that month's newsletter.
