When My Son Sees Me Through the Window

by Stephanie Wooley-Larrea

When my son sees me
through the window
he throws his body
into it. Ten fingers
slap against the glass.
Toes extend and relax
bobbing him up and down
forward and back.
The joy is honest.
Six teeth open wide,
his smile is full-bodied.
He watches me
with all of himself.
