Fran Bartkowski teaches English and Women’s Studies at Rutgers University-Newark. She is the author of Feminist Utopias (1989), and Travelers, Immigrants, Inmates (1995), and co-editor of Feminist Theory: A Reader (2004). She is the single mother of a 16-year-old son. “Sweet Dreams” is her first published poem.
